The idea to open up a school was conceived in the year 1988 by the secretary of My Own School Education Society Mrs. T. Singh. Consequently the school was started on the 4th of July, 1988 to provide high quality education to children, ensuring their all round development. To inculcate a sense of belonging in its pupils, the school was named "My Own School". The school was upgraded to primary level in 1992. And in the year 2000, the school management decided to upgrade it to senior secondary level by adding a class every year. Thenceforth a class was added every year. Now the school is a fully fledged Senior Secondary Co-educational English Medium School with all the streams at sr secondary level: Science-Math, Science-Biology, Commerce-Maths/IP/PE and Arts. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi. It follows NCERT curriculum and lays great emphasis on spoken and written English.
