Modern High School (Amritsar)

Since : 1974
System : Co-Educational
Class : Nursery - Class XII

Modern high school, Amritsar is an offshoot of SSSS Khalsa School Amritsar which has legacy of 125 years. Modern school has its beginning as an English medium nursery school in 1974 at the mall road campus. Due to paucity of space, a new building was erected in 15 acres plot at Dhab Kaulan on the Batala Road, Amritsar, then a low-lying barren piece of land through which a  ‘gandanala’ passed which joined the Batala Road to the main nala  on outskirts of Amritsar. The whole land was brought under Development Scheme and Lt. Gen BKN Chhiber, an alumnus, laid foundation stone in 1988. The school was affiliated PSEB in 1992 and in 2009 it was switched over to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).  The school was upgraded to class 10+2 in 2012 and has grown into a big well established Senior Secondary School with more than 2600 students from pre-nursery to class + 2.
