Carmel Public School
Carmel Public School is an educational enterprise of Carmel Monastery Vazhakulam . Ever since its inception in 1859, it took special care and interest in the education of the people of the locality. This was part of the mandate of the founding fathers of CMI Congregation. Facilities for English education were provided as early as 1866. Infant Jesus Elementary school was started in 1909 and the government accorded sanction in 1919. Sabas English school was started in 1983 and Carmel English U.P school in 1995. The school was renamed Carmel Public school and CBSE syllabus was introduced in 1997. Carmel Public School was formally affiliated to CBSE in 1988 and was upgraded to plus-two level in 2001.
